Introducing the ultimate search experience redesign

We’re thrilled to announce the release of our new search plugin (v15) packed with a complete redesign and a suite of exciting new features to enhance your search experience like never before. This update brings major improvements to the look, feel, and functionality of our search software, ensuring that you can find what you want quickly and easily while enjoying a smoother, more intuitive interface. Existing customers just need to click on Upgrade in the Design & Publish interface to get the new version of our search plugin.

Key features

• Complete redesign of all major components:
  The entire search experience has been revamped, from result cards to filters, sorting, autocomplete, and everything in between. Every detail has been carefully redesigned to ensure your users enjoy a cleaner, more efficient browsing experience.
• Enhanced navigation:
  We’ve made significant improvements to how users navigate search results. With smarter navigation options and a refreshed layout, users can quickly access what they need, saving time and effort during their search.
• Tabs and sorting flexibility:
  Sorting options are now more customizable than ever before, with a new option to use sorting as tabs. We’ve also introduced the ability to group results under "All Results" instead of mixing them, making it easier to organize and review search outcomes.
• Mini Product Detail page (PDP):
  Introducing the Mini PDP—a sleek and compact view of key product details right on the search results page. This gives users an instant preview without needing to navigate to a separate product page.



• Customizable result rendering:
  You now have the ability to customize and extend how content, custom, and product results are rendered. Whether you’re showcasing product information or displaying custom content, you can tailor the presentation to match your needs.
• Improved product cards:
  Product cards have gone through a major overhaul! They now feature more detailed information, including:
• Price
• Add to Cart CTA
• Rating
• Badges
• Scores


With these improvements, your customers can get all the essential information they need at a glance.
• New default placeholder image:
  A new look for your search with an updated default placeholder image that ensures your site looks polished, even if images haven’t loaded yet.
• Advanced filtering options:
  Filters have been reworked to provide an even smoother experience. By default, top filters will now also appear above the result set, enhancing accessibility and usability. We’ve also enhanced the filter drawer and UX of filters above the result set for a more intuitive user experience.



• Animated search box placeholder:
  To grab attention and add a bit of fun, we’ve added an animated search box placeholder, making it clear to users where to start their search.
• Page size dropdown:
  We’ve added a page size dropdown, giving users more control over how many results they see per page. It’s the flexibility you’ve been waiting for!
• Related queries (enabled by default):
  Related queries are now enabled by default, guiding users to find other relevant searches and helping them discover more content quickly.
• Improved customizability with CSS variables:
  In response to feedback, we’ve replaced SASS variables with CSS variables to offer better customizability. This gives you more flexibility to tailor the look and feel of your search experience without compromising on performance.
• Accessibility improvements:
  We’ve put a focus on accessibility in this release, ensuring that our search software is easier to use for everyone, including those with disabilities. We’ve also added structured microdata to result cards, which makes it easier for search engines to read and understand the data on your pages.
